Temple of Karnak in Luxor<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Often referred to as the Temple of Karnak in Luxor, it\u00a0was known as Ipet-isu\u2014or \u201cmost select of places\u201d\u2014by the ancient Egyptians. It is a city of temples built over 2,000 years and dedicated to the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. This derelict place is still capable of overshadowing many wonders of the modern world and in its day must have been awe-inspiring.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
When you see pictures of it in the late 1800’s and early on in restoration, it is a wonder that it ever survived.\u00a0 \u00a0And if you wander, the “back lot” area the few people ever see, there are still thousands of numbered items\u00a0 that will likely never be moved again.\u00a0 \u00a0Just debris from the ruins.\u00a0 Recent work ( Oct 2021) for a visit from the Egyptian President did force the completion of some areas.\u00a0 However, the speed at which it was done make me believe that it wont last a fraction of the time the original did.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>
